Moon in June Road Race

The good news: Burlington has a strong indoor lineup, and the Moon in June Road Race runs Saturday evening when the worst of it should have passed. Hit the Farmer's Market early before 10am, then move inside. Sunday is cooler but workable if you pick the right venue.
The Moon in June Road Race has raised over $1 million for local charities across 37 years — this year all proceeds go to the Children's Aid Foundation of Halton. Kidsfest runs 4–7pm near City Hall, with the Meredith's 1K Kids Run starting at 6:30pm and the 5K/10K at 7:30pm. Evening start times work in your favour if Saturday's showers clear by mid-afternoon as forecast.

BPL Alton is running drop-in button making Saturday noon to 4pm — pick a country template or design your own to show World Cup solidarity. All ages, all supplies provided, one button per person. Good rainy-afternoon filler that takes 20 minutes and costs nothing.
Royal Rainbow Storytime at BPL Central runs Saturday 10:30–11:30am with stories, songs, crafts, and a drag performance in collaboration with Pflag Halton. Geared to ages 4–8; kids must bring an adult and registration is required. Space is limited, so book now if you haven't already.
Burlington Lions Club Farmers Market runs Saturday 8am–2pm at Burlington Centre — local produce, baked goods, honey, and artisan goods in an outdoor setting. Go before 10am to beat the crowds and get first pick of the baked goods. If the showers hold off until afternoon, you'll be fine.
Dad's Backyard Bash at The Loft at Longo's Walkers Line runs Saturday 11am–1:30pm for kids aged 3–5 and their grown-ups. Kids build loaded hot dogs with gourmet toppings, blend triple chocolate marshmallow milkshakes, and take home a sweet treat. It's a paid, indoor cooking class — a solid call on a rainy Saturday morning.
